How to be a good client

It’s very frustrating being a client. Your agency is keen to help you make progress in your communications and after spelling out what they think you require and what they are going to do, you find that actually, there’s an awful lot of work for you to get on with too.

You thought you’d be getting on with your day job and you thought they’d be getting on with the business to hand.

How can you make the whole thing easier?

Start by assigning one team member to liaise with your agency and empower them to make decisions. Too much time and energy is wasted if the decision tree isn’t clear. Agree the outcomes in advance, so everyone is absolutely clear as to what they need to achieve. Make sure you’re in the driving seat-agree a reporting process, date and time that suits you and above all, give feedback. You won’t get irritatingly chased if you respond in good time.
